From Admirals to Artisans:

The Spirit of Château Malartic-Lagravière

Château Malartic-Lagravière stands on one of Bordeaux’s most prized gravel terraces in the heart of Pessac-Léognan, its vineyards rooted in deep gravel, sand, and clay that give rise to wines of remarkable balance and finesse. The estate’s history stretches back to the late 18th century, when the Malartic family, led by Admiral Count Anne-Joseph Hippolyte de Maurès de Malartic, lent their name and pioneering spirit to the property. Over the centuries, the château earned renown for both red and white wines, becoming one of the few Crus Classés of Graves distinguished in both categories. Since acquiring the estate in 1996, the Bonnie family has carried that legacy forward, revitalizing the vineyards and cellars while championing sustainable, agroecological practices that honor the land’s natural vitality. Their second label, Le Comte de Malartic, captures the same terroir-driven character with an expressive, modern approach, while each bottle of Malartic Lagravière remains a reflection of the family’s enduring commitment to heritage, innovation, and the timeless elegance of Bordeaux.

Le Comte

de Malartic White

— 2020 —

Le Comte de Malartic White shines with purity and aromatic finesse, blending Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon from well-drained gravel soils. Slow pressing and fermentation in French oak preserve its lively citrus and floral character while adding depth and roundness. The palate is bright and balanced, marked by notes of lemon, pear, and white peach with a subtle mineral edge. Fresh, elegant, and expressive, it reflects both the precision of the estate’s craftsmanship and the vibrant personality of Pessac-Léognan.
